Gran Sabana (Great Savannah)
The Gran Sabana does offer you a natural experience of a very special kind. Located between the huge and impressive tabletop mountains, with their amazing waterfalls, the highlands are always worth a trip and promise an experience that you will not forget.  The endless frontiers along with ist unique flora and fauna are just a few things of what you will get to enjoy, when you are joining us on a trip through this colorful and exotic region.

Gran Sabana  (4 Days / 3 Nights)   From Ciudad Bolivar!

Tour Overview:

1st Day:
The tour does start in either Ciudad Bolívar or in Ciudad Guayana. With a jeep you will be heading out, to visit the rapids of Cachamay. After a stop there, you are continuing your drive to the village El Callao, which you will be visited as part of the tour.  This city is a good opportunity, to buy some handmade Venezuelan gold jewels, such as necklaces. You are now in the region in which most of Venezuela’s goldmines are located.  After staying in the village for a while, you are going again by jeep, until you reach the “La Escalera”, the so called entrance to the Gran Savannah (1200m above MSL) shortly after.  Here you are going to visit the Dando Waterfall (Tapier) and the Statue “Monumento del Pioneros” (Monument of the Pioneers). Afterwards you are one again boarding the Jeep, followed by a small hiking trip, to reach the waterfall of Kama-Meru, which will be visible in all its beauty from the boat. The night you will stay in a camp, sleeping in a habitation with bathroom.   (B/L/D)

2nd Day:
After breakfast, you will go on a drive through the Savannah, until you the indigenous settlement of Liworiwo. There you will go on a boat trip and a hike to the spectacular waterfall of Aponguao (Chinak Meru 110m). This is one of the biggest waterfalls of the Gran Sabana. Intersted travellers are getting an opportunity to bath and swim here. Another hike to explore the fascinating surroundings of the waterfall does follow, before you return to the camp, staying in the same room as the day before. (F/M/A)

3rd Day:
After breakfast a visit of the Kaui Falls is scheduled. After visiting these impressive waterfalls, you continue to drive across the Gran Sabana, towards the city of Santa Elena. Underway, you will make stops at the Cities Suruape and Pacheco for visiting and sightseeing. Getting closer to Santa Elena, you will make another stop at the Mirador, a great observation point, from where you get to enjoy an immense panorama view over the whole Savannah, as well as on the tabletop mountains of Roraima and Kukenan. Upon your arrival in Santa Elena, it is possible to cross the border to Brazil. However, in order to do so, a vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory! There you will get opportunities to buy some souvenirs of special kind. Later in the afternoon, you will drive back to Santa Elena, where you are going to enjoy dinner. The night you will stay in habitation with bathroom, in a beautiful posada. (B/L/D)

4th Day:     
After a good and strong breakfast, you are heading on the Ruta Norte (North Route), to Puerto Ordaz or Ciudad Bolívar. Of course you are going to visit several points of interest during the drive back. In addition you will make a stop for lunch break during the drive back. (B/L/-)

Gran Sabana (3 Days / 2 Nights)   From Santa Elena de Uairen

Tour Overview:

1st Day:     
The day begins with a nice breakfast in the morning. Afterwards, you will be boarding a Jeep to the Jaspre Rojo waterfalls, with its red half gems. Later you will continue to drive, this time to the waterfall of “La Cortina”, which can be entered from its backside. After visiting the waterfall and taking some photos, you are once again boarding the jeep, followed by a short hike. This time your destination is the waterfall Kama-Meru (55m), which you can see from the boat in all its beautifulness. The night we will stay in a camp, where you will sleep in a habitation with bathroom.  (B/L/D)

2nd Day:    
After a tasty breakfast, you are driving through the Savannah, until you reach the indigenous village Liworibö. There you will board a boat, driving on the river for a while, followed by a hike to the spectacular Aponguao Waterfall Chinak Meru (110m). This is one of the biggest waterfalls in the Great Savannah. If you are interested, you are given an opportunity to take a natural bath in one of the natural water ponds of the falls. Refreshed and with new pictures on your memory card, you are continuing to hike, to explore the surrounding nature. Later that day, you are returning to the camp for dinner. In the evening you can relax a little, chat with the other tour members or the tour guides, before you are going to bed, again sleeping in your habitation with bathroom. (B/L/D)

3rd Day:     
Today, after a healthy breakfast, you are going to visit the Kaui-Falls, with opportunity to bath and swim. Afterwards, you are going on a drive back to Santa Elenena de Uairen, with several sightseeing stops, including the villages Suruape, Pacheco and of course the famous Mirador, an observation point. Here you get to enjoy an impressive and fascinating panorama view on the tabletop mountains of Roraima and Kukenán.  Upon our arrivial in Santa Elena, you have the opportunity to cross the border to Brazil, to buy some more souvenirs from there. However, a vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory to do so. Afterwards you return to Santa Elena for the tour end. (B/L/-)

From Santa Elena de Uairen it is possible to take a bus in the evening (At about 7:00PM), either to Ciudad Bolivar or Puerto Ordaz in the north. The price is about 20 USD.
