The huge tabletop mountains, reaching out of the wild jungle are more than 1.6 Billion years old and as such belong to one of the oldest stone formations found on our planet. Its unique biotope, fascinating waterfalls, rivers and lagunas make Canaima always worth a trip.
Canaima /Salto Angel (3 Days/2 Nights)

Tour Overview:


1st Day:

In the morning you are leaving Ciudad Bolivar in one of our own small aircraft, towards Canaima (1.15h). During the flight, you are passing a huge metal ore mining area, where metal is mined from an Asteroid that hit Venezuela millions of years ago. In addition, you are going to pass the Guri Impounding Dam, from which 60% of the whole energy of the country originates. Once landed in Canaima, you are boarding a boat for a trip through the laguna of Canaima, seeing the waterfalls of Ucaima, Golondrina and Hacha. On the Island of Anatoly you can expect a hike to the waterfalls of Sapo and Sapito, which can be entered from behind. Next you are heading back to the indigenous camp of Canaima, where – after a nice dinner – you will spend the night in a habitation with bathroom. For an additional fee, it is also possible, to spend the night in a 4**** hotel, with an excellent view on the waterfalls of the laguna. (B/L/D)

2nd Day:
     
The morning begins with a nice breakfast, after which you will start your journey in a classical car, to the harbor of Ucaima. From there, you are boarding a boat again, heading up the colorful river Rio Carrao, until you reach the pier of Mayupa. Next is an approximately thirty minute hike through the savanna, around the rapids of the area. Once back on the boat, the trip continues up the river Churun, to the Isla de Ratón (Island of the Mouse). On the way to the island, you are going to pass the impressive stone walls of the Auyantepuí tabletop mountain. Next is the “El Mirador”, which is reached after an about ninety minute hike through the jungle.  From you will enjoy a fantastic panorama view on the Angel Falls, the highest waterfalls on earth. If the weather is nice, you have time, to take a fresh bath in one of the natural ponds of the waterfall! Afterwards you are going to head back to the camp, where a barbecue in jungle atmosphere is waiting for you. The rest of the evening you are going to relax with the natural sounds of the jungle, talking to our guides and the other tourists. This night you will sleep in a hammock. (B/L/D)

3rd Day:     
After a nice breakfast, you are heading to the laguna of Canaima. Before returning to Ciudad Bolívar you have the opportunity, to go swimming or relax in the village. If you did not get a souvenir from your trip yet, the beautiful, handmade artisan works of the indios are exactly what you are looking for. The return flight to Ciudad Bolivar, where the tour ends, is at about 2:00PM.  (B/D/-)

A Sightseeing Flight over the Angel Falls may be booked for an additional charge of 50, - Euro per Person (min. 4 Persons – For less than 4 Persons, the price will go up).
Tourists have the option to book a room in a **** Star Hotel for an additional fee of 35 Euro. The hotel is close to the Laguna, so that you can enjoy a beautiful view over the waterfalls, on the tabletop mountains.

The following tour we offer only between June and January:

 

Canaima / Salto Angel (Angel Falls) (2 Days / 1 Night) (By Boat)
Usually this tour is only offered during the raining season between June and January.

Tour Overview:

1st Day:
In the morning you are flying from Ciudad Bolívar to Canaima (1.15h), using one of our own small aircraft. During the flight, you are passing a huge metal ore mining area, where metal is mined from an Asteroid that hit Venezuela millions of years ago. In addition, you are going to pass the Guri Impounding Dam, from which 60% of the whole energy of the country originates. Upon arrival follows the transfer in a classical truck, to the harbor of Ucaima. Once there, you are going to board a boat and head up the colorful river Rio Carrao, until you reach the pier of Mayupa. Here you will head out for a thirty minutes hiking trip, through the Savannah, around the rapids of the area. Back on the boat, you are heading up the River Churun, until you reach the Isla de Ratón (Island of the Mouse). While being underway, you are going to pass the impressive stonewalls of the giant tabletop mountain Ayantepuí.
Here you are going on another hike, this time across the jungle, to the Angel Falls. After about ninety minutes of hiking, you are reaching the “El Mirador”. From this fantastic observation place, you are enjoying a beautiful view on the highest waterfall of earth. If the weather is nice, you are able to enjoy a fresh bath, in the natural ponds of the Angel Falls, before you are returning to the camp. Once there, a nice barbecue is awaiting you in pure rainforest atmosphere, around a campfire. The rest of the evening, you will be relaxing, listening to the sounds of the jungle, before you are lying down in your hammock, to call it a night. What an exciting day! (B/L/D)

2nd Day:     
After breakfast, you are heading back towards the Canaima village, to the waterfalls of Sapo and Sapito, which can be entered from the back side. After a short hike across the island of Anatoly, you are once again boarding a boat to the beach of the laguna, passing the waterfalls of Hacha, Golondrina and Ucaima. Back in the camp, you will get a tasty launch, after which you have the opportunity for a short visit in the village, to buy souvenirs.  At about 2:00PM, you are flying back to Ciudad Bolívar, where the tour ends. The following tour we offer in the dry season as an alternative to Canaima / Angel Falls
(Angel Falls - two days / one night)

 


Canaima / Salto Angel (Angel Falls) – (2 Days / 1 Night) – Dry Period
This tour is usually scheduled, to replace the boat tour during the dry period. It may however be booked the whole year, if interested.

Tour Overview:

1st Day:
In the morning you flyy to Canaima (1.15h), with one of our own small aircraft. During the flight, you are passing a huge metal ore mining area, where metal is mined from an Asteroid that hit Venezuela millions of years ago. In addition, you are going to pass the Guri Impounding Dam, from which 60% of the whole energy of the country originates. After a spectacular landing, you are boarding a boat and start your trip through the laguna of Canaima, where you will get a chance to see the waterfalls of Ucaima, Golondrina and Hacha. Upon arrival on the island of Anatoly, you are going on a hiking trip to the waterfalls of Sapo and Sapito, which can be entered from behind! Next you are going to the indio camp, where you will enjoy lunch. Afterwards, the laguna does invite for several bathing and swimming opportunities. In the evening you will get a tasty dinner, before you are heading to bed after an interesting and eventful day. (B/L/D

2nd Day:
After a nice and tasty breakfast, you are taking the plane to a flight through the canyon of the tabletop mountain Auyantepuí to the Angels Falls and back over the mountain to the Canaima village. Here you can spend the some time relaxing or buying souvenirs, until you are flying back to Ciudad Bolívar. (B/L/-)

Canaima / Salto Angel (Angel Falls) – Full Day

Tour Overview:

In the morning you are flying from Ciudad Bolívar to Canaima (1.15). Once you have arrived, you are flying through the Canyon of the tabletop mountain, Auyantepuí, to the Angel Falls. After enjoying the nature, the flight will return to the Canaima village.  Upon landing in the village, you are boarding a boat and head through the laguna of Canaima, to visit the waterfalls of Ucaima, Golondrina and Hacha. After arriving on the island Anatoly, you are going on a hike to see the waterfalls of Sapo and Sapito, that can also be entered from their backside.
Afterwards you are returning to the indigenous camp for lunch. Before flying back to Ciudad Bolívar, you have the opportunity to relax or visit the village. This is an excellent time to buy some of the handcrafted artisan work as a souvenir of your trip. After an exciting day, you are boarding our aircraft back to Ciudad Bolívar. (B/L/-)
